Eversholt signs £10m Class 375 modifications contract with LSER

has announced today (31st August 2021) that it has placed a contract with LSER () worth up to £10m to carry out modifications to its 112 trains.

London South Eastern Railway (LSER) is the company behind rail operator Southeastern / Southeastern High Speed.

The work will start in August with design work taking place. The first unit is expected to enter the depot in December 2021, with all trains expected to have work completed by Q4 in 2024.

Work being completed will complete the franchise-committed obligations and improve the fleet with a number of system upgrades.

Also included in the work will be replacing lighting with LED lights, at-seat USB charging and energy meters.

A trial of a bio-reactor toilet system is also being fitted to one carriage to upgrade the existing toilet, the trial will take place for two years.

The Southeastern Fleet is a key fleet for Eversholt Rail and this package of upgrades continues Eversholt Rail's commitment to investing in and improving the travelling experience for customers in the Southeast.”

  • That’s great news because the Class 375s does need a lot of improvements including the front and rear cab ends. And of course the interiors and seats. What about the Class 376 and the Class 465 and Class 466 Networkers. Will they too get the refurbishment and to have a new Southeastern blue livery as well.
