The has announced that BR Class 26, No. 26007, will be visiting them later this year for their Mixed Traffic Gala.

Taking place from the 10th to the 12th of September, the gala will feature an intensive timetable with both steam and diesel locomotives.

This is the first time that 26007 has visited the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway and has been made possible thanks to its owner, Victor Korzeniewicz.

The locomotive entered service in 1958 as D5300 and was known as the prototype Class 26 locomotive.

Now in preservation and owned by Victor Korzeniewicz, the locomotive is normally based at the Barrow Hill Roundhouse in South Yorkshire.

Tickets for the gala are expected to be on sale next week! What do you think of this visitor? Let us know in the comments below.
