The has announced that they will be welcoming S160 No. 6046 for the next few months.

6046 should arrive at the railway today, 11th August 2021, and will be at the Bluebell Railway until the end of October 2021.

No doubt that 6046 will soon be hauling trains on the Bluebell Railway and we should be able to see some gala appearances.

6046 is making her way down from the Didcot Railway Centre, where the locomotive visited for a gala weekend.

The locomotive is visiting the Bluebell Railway thanks to its resident railway line, the Churnet Valley Railway and owners, Batt Holden Limited.

Built as 70280 in Philadelphia by the Baldwin Locomotive Company, 6046 was sent straight to France in 1945 to help with World War II, once this was over, it was sent to work on the industrial lines in Hungary.

The locomotive was brought to the UK for restoration and arrived at the Churnet Valley Railway in 2006.
