Calling all young steam engine fans, the (IoWSR) has an opportunity for 10 to 14 year olds to join The Calbourne Club as volunteers on their heritage line.

Volunteers form the backbone of a preserved railway, carrying out a variety of fun activities to support their hobbies.

To encourage younger steam locomotive and railway fans to support the preserved railway, the IoWSR set up The Calbourne Club.

Youngsters aged between 10 to 14 years old who join the club help carry out the following at the once a month meet:

  1. Assisting in running stalls at events throughout the year
  2. Conservation projects
  3. Restoring artefacts
  4. Welcoming visitors

The main aim of the Club is to provide members with the opportunity to learn more about many aspects of the railway, setting them up to taking on more roles and responsibilities as trainees.
