Step-free access has been restored for passengers at station after repairs to the lifts were completed.

Following a power cut at the station back on the 16th of June, both lifts had to be taken out of service as the doors had to be forced open and were damaged.

It was originally thought that the lifts could be out of action for a few months, however, temporary repairs have been made, and the lifts are now operational again.

are awaiting the delivery of parts to complete a long-term repair to the lift doors.

Ben Robinson, business manager for Network Rail, said: “We're really pleased to be able to get Old Roan station's lifts back into use for passengers while we plan work to replace some of the damaged door equipment.  Our engineers will be closely monitoring the lifts to make sure they're operating safely and I'd like to thank station users for their patience.”
