The West Somerset Railway has announced dates for their Diesel Running Days and has also released tickets that can be purchased online.
The running days are all Saturdays and the locomotives that are hauling trains are:
- 17 July – ‘Hymek' D7018, with extension to Norton Fitzwarren
- 31 July – ‘Hymek' D7018
- 07 August – ‘Hymek' D7018, with extension to Norton Fitzwarren
- 21 August – Crompton pair, top and tail, celebrating their 60th birthdays!
- 25 September – ‘Hymek' D7018, with extension to Norton Fitzwarren
Also, the Diesel and Electric Preservation Group's locomotives will be used for the Mixed Traffic Weekend on the 17th – 18th September, a timetable for which is yet to be released.
Tickets are available at £22.50 per person or £135 for a compartment for up to 6 people.

Nice to see the Hymek (7018) not only preserved, But running again! I would 2nd man this and many others, Out of Bristol Bath rd in the early to Mid 60s. This was of course befor single manning was introduced, resulting in my redundancy in 1967 allas!. My reason for comment though concerns the Z class steam loco you spoke of, In my banking gang days at Exmth jct, My Driver and i would wait for trains, (just beyond the road crossing at St Davids,) To assist the heavy stuff up to Exeter Central. Dampers closed, fire blacked out, blower just a whisper, Boiler first so the dummy was firemans side! Conversation was about the XK 150, but you were saving for a Ford Prefect, Maybe a Triumph or a Norton? But made do with a NSU Quickly or a pushbike! Suddenly a Maunsell drifts by, Trying to slow the biggest load of Meldon Stone waggons youve seen in your life, Controlled panic! Dampers, Blower, Bar, Water level (allways spot on for that bank) Put an injector on now!! and your goose is cooked,
