Police Dog, Storm, wins BTP Award after a pursuit with hit and run suspects

Storm and PC Raymond Martin have been awarded the Bryan Trophy after their joint contribution in a hit and run incident on the M8 near Edinburgh.

Chief Inspector Pete Kooper said: “Huge congratulations are in order for PC Martin and PD Storm who demonstrated exemplary perseverance and determination in tracking two suspects who had tried their best to flee the scene of a crime.

“It's a fitting end to an illustrious career in BTP for PD Storm who has spent seven years protecting the railway network in Scotland. We'd all like to wish him a very happy and much deserved retirement.”

staff take three million steps to raise money for Samaritans and mental health awareness

10 ScotRail members of staff accepted the challenge of walking 10,000 steps a day for the 31 days in March, and in total completed 3,100,000 steps between them.

In total just under £6,000 was raised for Samaritans as part of the scheme.

Martine Gravil, ScotRail Fatigue Manager, said:“We knew it was a very uncertain time with the coronavirus lockdown continuing in Scotland. But, we all thought that doing this challenge would be good for our own mental wellbeing and if it helped get people talking about mental health then that was a win-win for everyone.

 

Ornaments placed on the Indonesian rail network for Ramadan

Various ornaments were placed on locomotives, trains and stations in Indonesia to celebrate the month of Ramadan.

A special Ramadan livery was placed on 9 locomotives by KAI as well as ornaments being placed at 25 stations including Gambir Station, Pasar Senen, Bandung.

“The installation of Ramadan decorations at various KAI service points is our effort to provide the best service to customers during the Ramadan moment in 2021,” said VP of Public Relations of KAI, Joni Martinus.

Two men charged with possession of 2.2kg of cocaine at London St Pancras station

The British Transport Police has charged two men, Olsian Vogli and Eugen Lila, after being caught with 2.2kg of cocaine at London St Pancras station. Both have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance.
