Dining trains and full menu in Cafes for the Great Central Railway in May 

The Great Central Railway (GCR) has announced the return of dining train services and a full menu in Station's cafes from the end of May.

With the UK currently following a roadmap out of full national lockdown, the next stage for easing COVID-19 restrictions and safety measures is due in just under two weeks, which will see a couple of changes.

These are:

1. Returning of Dining Trains – a range of dining services will be on offer again, such as the popular fish and chip trains. More information on these can be found on GCR's website here.
2. Full re-opening of cafes – visitors will be able to order from the full menu at both Rothley Station's Ellis's Tea Room and Quorn and Woodhouse Station's Butler Henderson Cafe Bistro

Since reopening on Saturday the 17th of April, GCR has already seen over a thousand people visit the line, a great start and providing much-needed revenue.

Great Central Railway's Managing Director Michael Gough said: “We are so delighted to be running again and welcoming back our visitors. Inevitably, ongoing restrictions and rules surrounding the pandemic continue to restrict the extent of our activities but these are the first few small steps to recovery and one thing that the pandemic has taught us, is to be grateful for “little wins”. Throughout the Summer we have a number of events planned including our post-lockdown steam gala in June, our Beer Festival and Vintage Fair in July, Villains and Superheroes and Animal Fun in August and our hugely popular War Weekend in September.”
