Buses to replace trains on the Cotswolds Line

Train operator are asking passengers to plan ahead as buses replace trains on the Cotswold line from this Saturday.

Track improvement and bridge refurbishment work on the line will see the line closed for a week between and .

Buses will be replacing trains between Moreton-in-Marsh and from Saturday 29th May to Friday 4th June.

The buses will be timed so that they will connect with trains for journeys between and Moreton-in Marsh.

Between and Worcester Foregate Street, buses will be also replacing trains on 29th / 30th May while Network Rail undertake track renewal work in the Worcester Shrub Hill area.

Journey times may be extended by up to 80 minutes where buses are replacing trains, there are alternative routes to London via Gloucester and Birmingham for those who would like to make their journey by train.

We have been working hard to make sure that people can be confident to travel safely, and that includes running as many trains and carriages as we can to make extra room, and replacement buses where trains cannot operate, as well as enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures.”
