Over this May Bank Holiday weekend, preparation work for the new Brent Cross West station will continue.
If you need to travel from today, Saturday 1st May, until Monday 3rd May, everyone is being asked to plan ahead as the work will affect the Midland Main Line.
Between West Hampstead and Mill Hill Broadway, Network Rail are working on the line and the signalling systems to make the line smoother for all trains that use it.
Network Rail is also making space for the station that is expected to open next year.
All the work will take place over both of the bank holidays in May.
Whilst work is in progress some lines will be temporarily closed on Saturday 1st, Sunday 2nd and Monday 3rd May so work can be completed safely.
Between West Hampstead and Mill Hill Broadway, no Thameslink trains will be in operation.
Bus replacement on the East Coast Mainline will be in place between;
- West Hampstead and Mill Hill Broadway
- Luton/Luton Airport Parkway and Hitchin
- Harpenden/St Albans and Potters Bar
- Kettering and Corby (on Sunday 2nd)
East Midlands Railway will also run a reduced service over the bank holiday weekend.
Additionally, between Kettering Station and Kettering Depot, track upgrades will be taking place.
Saturday 1st and Monday 3rd, trains to/from Corby will be only running to/from Kettering which means if you have to travel between Corby and London St Pancras you will have to change at Kettering to get to St Pancras.
Between Wellingborough and Kettering some of the trains may be running slower for the work, Leading to extended times for the journeys.

The new station at Brent Cross West near to Brent Cross shopping centre is to have 2 platforms that will only have Thameslink trains serving the new station. And there are plans for a new railway station at Wixams, south of Bedford to be built that could also have 2 platforms for Thameslink trains to serve once built and to serve the Bedfordshire new town.
