The Middleton Railway has announced that they will reopen to the public from Sunday 23rd May 2021.

Subject to government guidelines, the shop and cafe will reopen at the same time.

Steam trains will operate every Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays between 10:30 am and 3:30 pm every hour until the end of June. It is then hoped that the Middleton Railway can start operation of Saturday services.

An additional day has also been announced, with a diesel service operating on Wednesday 2nd June for Half Term, with trains running hourly from 10:30 am.

The Middleton Railway says it will take all measures and put in place a COVID-secure environment for all visitors.

The Middleton Railway has said: “The current distancing rules will remain in place until relaxed by the Government and the Trust will take all practical measures to make the Middleton Railway a Covid secure environment.”

“We are taking a cautious approach to reopening in order to prevent unnecessary journeys prior to the full ending of the lockdown as highlighted by the government.”

During the season, the Middleton Railway will be welcoming back Sentinel No. 68153 and Swanscombe No. 6 to passenger service.

You can visit the Middleton Railway website for full details of their reopening services.
