Isle of Wight Steam Railway Steams again from Mid April!

The has announced that they will be reopening from Monday 12th of April 2021.

With changes to COVID-19 restrictions due to take place over the coming months, taking us slowly out of full national lockdown, Monday 12th of April is the earliest date the Isle of Wight Steam Railway can open its stations and run steam train services once again.

To further add to the occasion, 2021 marks the 50th Anniversary of the first train to run on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, with April 12th set to be the first day trains run in 2021.

Facilities onsite openings are as follows:

  1. Trains, Outdoor Areas, Shop and Haven Falconry – Open
  2. Cafe – Open but Takeaways only
  3. Train Story Discovery Centre – Reopening planned for Monday 17th of May.

Safety of passengers, staff, and volunteers is a top priority, with full details on how you can help ensure safety available on the Railway's website.

The Railway advises anyone considering visiting the heritage line to pre-book tickets when available via the Railway's website.

  • Wow, the Incredibe Isle of Wight Steam Railway are ever so Lucky… I Wish them Good Luck on their Reopening, & During the rest of 2021.

    I also do believe this Incredible Island Heritage Railway also aims to extend/reach Ryde St.John train station someday.

    And the IWSR are also indeed marking 50 years this very year too.
