The in Staffordshire has announced that 1953 Bagnall built steam locomotive 0-4-2 “Isaac” has arrived at their heritage line.

“Isaac”

Built for the working trains on the Rustenburg Platinum Mines in South Africa, “Isaac” first operated in the UK on the Welsh Highlands Railway Ltd in 1982, after becoming surplus to requirement the year before.

Boston Lodge Works on the Ffestiniog Railway carried out a full restoration in 2012, where on completion the engine was named “Isaac” and turned out in a green livery.

The steam locomotive can be currently found on display in the Roundhouse at the Statfold Barn Railway.

The railway is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19, meaning they are losing vital income.

One way you can support them is purchasing items from their online shop. Money raised will go towards covering fixed costs across the line.
