The Somerset & Dorset Railway Heritage Trust have published their latest update on their Wagon Restoration appeal.

Moving into the Goods Shed

A big step in the right direction has been made with one of the wagons entering the Goods Shed.

Being undercover will mean fewer interruptions by weather while work continues on welding to repair plate work.

The other wagon will receive attention to the brake system while remaining outside.

The Trust is looking into options for providing cover from the elements for more rolling stock.

When the COVID-19 situation improves volunteers will be able to return and assist with the restoration.

Funds play a key part in determining how well the project can progress, with more needed in order to purchase materials and parts for the wagons, such as brake hoses and seals.
