Space is being made available at railway station car park by rail operator to allow drivers to give lifts for the elderly and vulnerable to go get their vaccine as part of the national vaccination programme.

The car park is mostly empty as people follow the Stay at Home advice and are often situated in the middle of communities and are well place to park and wait.

The train operator has made Car Park 4 at Sevenoaks free of charge to those receiving vaccinations.

The free parking has been organised between Southeastern and the NHS until further notice.

Elliott Waters, Station Manager for Southeastern at Sevenoaks said: “Our whole team has been working throughout this pandemic to support our local communities, and keep services clean, safe and operating. We are delighted to provide practical support to this crucial mass vaccination effort.”

  • Well done Southeastern. Other train operators should do the same as well. Including Greater Anglia and c2c.
