Four of the busiest platforms at London Euston are being improved as part of Network Rail's multi-million-pound improvement programme.
Currently, the ramp layout to platforms 8-11 are being filled by passengers and are causing a bottleneck for those leaving and arriving at the station.
With the widening work that is being been done, £11.7m has been invested, and this will help the passengers move more easily from one train to the next.
This work is being completed alongside other work at Euston later this year which will see new information screens and improvements to the announcement system. The work has already started and will continue until Summer 2021.
Joe Hendry, station manager at London Euston, said: “Over the last couple of years, passengers will have seen Euston in various states of construction as we've worked to improve our facilities and pave the way for HS2.”
“Though we can't make the station building bigger, this work will help us get passengers to where they need to be more effectively and efficiently. I'm confident our ongoing work to improve information systems, signage, widening the concourse and access to platforms, along with better facilities and retail offering, will make journeys through the station much smoother, easier and pleasant.”

Will HS2 be worth it?
As a new HS2 station is under construction next door to the current London Euston station. I think it’s ideal to demolish the old station and rebuild it with new longer platforms and dedicated platforms for London Overground, Avanti West Coast, London Northwestern Railway and HS2 trains. Or shared platforms for London Overground, Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway trains and longer platforms for HS2 trains.
What about dedicated platforms for London Overground to use when operating between London Euston-Watford Junction and Willesden Junction low level. With the new platforms built for HS2.
Maybe London Euston old building should also be demolished and rebuilt to fit for the HS2 line and a new underground subway to link with Euston Square station (Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan Lines).
