WATCH: Wintery steam locomotives in Derbyshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire!

In this video, RailView showcases a compilation, and we see the best of steam in the winter from a period of four years 2016 to 2020 from places such as the East Midlands, West Midlands, Derbyshire, Yorkshire and Lancashire scenes. From cold sunny winter days, cloudy, moody days to scenes in the snow and frost including the Beast from the East in March 2018.

Highlights in this video include:

  • 60009 Union of South Africa steaming through the winter light on the East Lancashire Railway in January 2020 & climbing up the 1 in 60 incline of Sapperton Bank on The Cotswold Venturer in February 2020.
  • 34046 Braunton climbing through the High Peak, Derbyshire, on The Christmas White Rose in December 2020.
  • 7029 Clun Castle blasting around East & West Midlands during February & December 2019.
  • 60163 Tornado speeding through Doncaster in the winter sun on The Christmas White Rose to York in December 2019
