The Watercress Line has launched its unique digital LED train with passengers taking the first journey this afternoon (Friday 4th December 2020).

The LED train creates a light show both on and in the steam train and consists of thousands of LED lights and wristbands.

What makes this unique is that the lights are programmed to perform the show with different colours and patterns.

Passengers are given an LED wristband to wear on the train to be part of the show and as a keepsake of the event.

Following a delay due to the second lockdown in England, the event is now open to the public and runs until the 3rd January 2021, with tickets still available.

Trains depart from either Alresford or Alton for a round trip.

Tickets need to be booked in advance. For more details and to book, click here to visit their website.

General manager Simon Baggott said: “Despite a delay, we are delighted to launch this unique event today and welcome many people back to the Watercress Line. It’s a wonderful experience the whole family can enjoy together and is sure to be an event to remember!”
