has told RailAdvent that The Big Give Christmas Challenge will be supporting them this week, but they need your help.

Running from the 1st December until the 8th December 2020, The Big Give aims to match fundraising campaigns in the UK.

The trust is therefore aiming to raise £4000 as part of the challenge. They need to raise £2000 from supporters in order to be matched with another £2000.

£4000 will pay for the work on 2874's “horns” – this is the place in the frames of the locomotives where the axle boxes sit.

This is an essential piece of the project to re-wheel the locomotive and open up for more volunteer training and development.

The first £1000 has already been pledged by some friends of the trust. Anything over £2000 will be spent on further restoration work, so no donation is too large.

Donations can be made to The Big Give fundraiser by clicking here to visit their fundraising page.

This is an excellent opportunity for The 2874 Trust, so if you can help, please do!

A Jolly Congratulative Well Done to the GWSR & Loco Trust on this Latest Highlight by the way.

  • Well There’s A Surprise… And Jolly Great News Too.

That GWR Loco Trust are doing so well, Especially on their Aimful Goals when it comes to Eventual Restoration of such A Fascinatingly Large Tender Locomotive, the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire Railway are ever so proud to have as part of their very own loco fleet.
