Saturday treat for people in Sheffield as steam locomotive 34046 Braunton set to pass through

Steam locomotive No. 34046 Braunton will be back in steam on the mainline and will be passing through on Saturday 19th December 2020.

The West Country Class locomotive is on a railtour this Saturday.

34046 is hauling the tour from Crewe to .

The special train will depart behind a diesel locomotive at 06:32 and will pass through Wellington (06:40), (07:02), Whitchurch (07:35) and Crewe at 08:00.

From Crewe, Braunton will be added to the train and will depart at 08:27. From here, the locomotive will pass through Acton Bridge (08:48), Warrington Bank Quay (09:00), Newton le Willows (09:16), (09:43), (09:49), (10:20), (11:08), (11:32), (11:37), Sheffield (11:52), Swinton (12:15), (12:24), (13:22) and York (13:42).

The return journey will depart York at 16:55 and will pass through Church Fenton (17:11), (17:25), (17:37), (18:37), (18:48), (18:55), (18:59), Manchester Victoria (19:51), Eccles (20:08), (20:22), Warrington Bank Quay (20:34), (21:06), and Crewe (21:23).

Once the diesel replaces Braunton, the train will return to Telford Central via Whitchurch (22:24), Shrewsbury (22:49), Wellington (23:08), and Telford Central at 23:18.
