Rail disruption between Swindon and Gloucester as person is hit by train

A person has been hit by a train between Swindon and and means trains may be cancelled or diverted.

This incident is affecting trains between London Paddington and Cheltenham Spa.

Some train services may be diverted between Swindon and Gloucester to run via Bristol Parkway.

Disruption between these stations is expected until 14:00 on 21st December 2020.

Road transport has been requested to operate between Swindon and Gloucester, however, this is expected to be limited in availability.

Ticket acceptance is in place with Stagecoach Buses on the following:

  • 10: Gloucester (Clarence Street) – Cheltenham (Promenade)
  • 61: Stroud (Merrywalks) – Stonehouse (Elgin Mall)
  • 64: Gloucester (Bus Station) – Stonehouse (Elgin Mall) – Stroud (Merrywalks)
  • 63: Gloucester (Bus Station) – Stroud (Merrywalks)
  • 65: Stroud (Merrywalks) – Cam & Dursley (Station)
  • 66: Cheltenham (Promenade) – Stroud (Merrywalks) – Stonehouse
  • 97, 98: Gloucester (Bus Station) – Cheltenham (Promenade)

  • As an ex Signalman with 50 years service always felt sorry for driver,as he has to live with the memory , also feel for the victim .
