The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways have announced that their station at , as well as their First Class Pullman Carriages, have been shortlisted for the Best UK & Ireland Tourism Project in the BGTW International Tourism Awards 2020.

The awards aim to recognise excellence in tourism projects across the world that the members of the BGTW  have visited and which they believe need more recognition.

Simon Willmore, BGTW chairman, says: “Each year our members nominate tourism projects and initiatives that they have visited and feel deserve wider notice. Being shortlisted as a finalist is not only an achievement in its own right but also recognition of the important role the tourism project/initiative plays in attracting visitors and boosting the region's/area's visitor economy.”

Clare Britton, F&WHR Commercial Manager, says: “We're delighted to be nominated. This has given us a real boost and we look forward to welcome back travellers to see our new station and carriages that have been built to further lift our customer experience.

The winners will be announced on the 21st March 2021 at The Savoy in London.
