Network Rail has announced that the track and bridge upgrades on the London Overground Gospel Oak to Barking line has been completed and all services are running normally again.
The work started back in August to replace the two-miles of track between Harringay Green Lane and Upper Holloway Station.
The work at four bridges along the route to strengthen has also been completed, including two bridges at Beaumont Road and Capworth Street between Leyton Midland Road and Walthamstow Queens Road and two at Sebert Road and Balmoral Road between Woodgrange Park and Wanstead Park.
Ellie Burrows, Network Rail's route director for Anglia, said: “We have carried out as much work as possible during this time to improve the reliability of the track and equipment. As a result, services will be more reliable, with fewer delays and cancellations. I want to thank both passengers and our railway neighbours for their patience while we carried out this important work.”
Rory O'Neill, TfL's General Manager for London Overground, said: “We would like to thank our customers for their patience while Network Rail completed work on the Gospel Oak to Barking line. The vital upgrade work will ensure services can run smoothly and reliably for customers for many years to come.”
