Following on from the freight train derailment at Sheffield on Wednesday 11th November, all lines have now reopened.
11 derailed tanker wagons were removed from the incident site and repairs were completed by Network Rail due to the derailment damaging signalling and points equipment.
Network Rail said nobody was injured in the incident, but significant damage to the signalling and points equipment occurred, meaning five of the eight platforms were closed to trains.
The derailment occurred around 2:45 am on Wednesday 11th November. The train carrying cement came off the tracks whilst passing through Platform 1.
East Midlands Railway, TransPennine Express and CrossCountry are now running as per their advertised timetable.
Northern may have delays of up to 20 minutes and cancellations today (17th November) up until 12:00.
Due to the latest lockdown restrictions, please only travel if essential and leave the railway open and available for keyworkers.
