Rail passengers at Sheffield are facing major disruption today after a freight train derailed overnight.
Network Rail says nobody was injured in the incident, but significant damage to the signalling and points equipment has occurred, meaning five of the eight platforms are currently closed.
Engineers have been on site overnight and have a plan in place, with three platforms being made available for use.

The RAIB has been informed of the incident, and the train cannot be moved until the RAIB has examined the scene.
The incident is currently affecting CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway and Northern, whilst TransPennine Express are subject to minor disruption.
Ticket acceptance and bus replacement services are in place.
Matt Rice, Route Director for Network Rail's North and East Route, said: “We're really sorry about the huge amount of disruption that will be caused to passengers today.
“Thankfully, train derailments are very rare, but when they do happen, we have to act with utmost caution to protect the safety of everyone using the railway.
“We will have our people working around the clock to get the station fully reopened as quickly as possible, but it's going to be a complex problem that won't be resolved immediately.”
The derailment occurred around 2:45 am. The train carrying cement came off the tracks whilst passing through Platform 1.
It was a slow speed incident, but multiple wagons of the 34-wagon train have come off the tracks, and there is currently no indication to the cause (at the time of writing).

Has it happened before.
But how comes did it happen. Was it due to tracks not being checked and the points weren’t properly checked. Or was it due to the weight of the cargo that caused the derailment.
Oh deary me… At least nobody was hurt, nor injured.
Such a shame for such an unexpected derailment to occur upon Yorkshire Soil, let alone Sheffield.
Not too long go (during this imfamously challenging year), There had been a derailment over in Wales, let alone the other (sadly tragic) derailment over in Scotland.
