A new customer information screen has gone live at Victoria railway station in London.
The screen is the largest and clearest single screen installed at any Network Rail station.
Measuring 5 metres by 2.5 metres, the full-colour LED display is above the concourse and allows more information to be shown.
The screen can be used to show platform information, safety messages as well as any disruption information. The screen is also capable of showing video or animations.
Part of Network Rail's ‘Putting Passengers First' initiative the new display is similar to a smaller version installed at London Waterloo railway station earlier in the year.
John Halsall, Network Rail Southern region managing director, said: “Accurate, real-time, and easy-to-understand customer information is critical to passengers' experience in stations and is key to putting our passengers first.
“We're really happy to see the introduction of this new technology at London Victoria which, in its prominent position, will provide passengers with even more useful information to help them make more informed decisions about their journey.”

We know that timely information is vital for our customers, and this fantastic display provides information with clarity and impact during normal operation and at times of disruption.”

Maybe more of the new customer information screens should be installed at major railway stations in England, Scotland and Wales.
