The has told RailAdvent that they have cancelled their Santa Specials for 2020.

The reason for the cancellation is due to Luton moving into the new COVID Tier 2 under the new restrictions.

As the situation is ever-changing, The Fancott Miniature Railway has said that it “would be unfair to go ahead with the events only to cancel at the last minute”.

However, the Fancott Miniature Railway will be back in 2021 for a great day out for all the family.

Ron Stanbridge, of the Fancott Miniature Railway, told RailAdvent: “we feel that it would be unfair to go ahead with the events only to have to cancel at the last minute, and we need to keep our visitors and volunteers safe as we move further into the winter months. We've been incredibly fortunate to have been able to open at all during 2020 – it's been amazing to welcome so many visitors! We will look forward to welcoming you all back in 2021!”

  • Well done for making the hard call.

No railway ought to be running Santa trains this season. Any that are will, I hope, be very closely watched by the ORR and regional H&S bodies.

  • So sorry to hear about the Fancott Miniature Railway, on having to cancel it’s own Santa Specials…

My heart goes out to them, especially to those within-between.

I do hope they Eventually Reopen Back up and Running during 2021… That exact part of Luton just wouldn’t be the same without this intriguing little ride-around Railway Attraction.
