Bluebell Railway steam trains cancelled as England enters lockdown

The has confirmed that it has cancelled all planned train services due to the tighter restrictions coming into force.

Services between the 5th November and 2nd December have all been cancelled.

This means that the start of both SteamLights and the Santa Specials have both been cancelled as well as dining specials such as Pie and Mash Lunch, The Blue Belle Luncheon, The Blue Belle Evening Dining and Wealden Rambler Festive Afternoon Tea.

For those with bookings, the Bluebell Railway will be contacting customers regarding their tickets, but there are a large number of people to contact.

Catering at the Bluebell Railway will also be suspended for the lockdown, and no takeaway service will be on offer.

The shop at will be closed, but their online shop remains open for books, souvenirs and model railway items.

Christopher Hunford, Chairman, Bluebell Railway Plc said: Although this second lockdown is undoubtedly a setback, I am sure the same spirit and determination which saw us through the first lockdown will prevail once again. We look forward to working together to see the Railway through this period and reopening as soon as we possibly can.

  • So sorry to hear about, the Bluebell Railway having to cancel it’s well-planned events because of tighter restrictions coming into form.

    On the Bright Side, at least the Beautiful Bluebell Railway still managed to Celebrate 60 Years of Preservation this Very Year,

    My heart still goes out once again, to the Bluebell Railway itself, Especially to those out there and in-between.

    I do hope the 60 Year Old Bluebell Railway Reopens Back up and Running soon.
