The changes will come into effect from Saturday, 14th November 2020.

The move will see the rail operator run two trains an hour on the Manchester and Birmingham routes.

The trains that will be cancelled are the XX:03 to , the XX:50 Birmingham New Street to London Euston, the XX:00 London Euston to and the XX:35 Manchester Picadilly to London Euston.

However, Avanti West Coast has told RailAdvent that additional stops will be made on the other services to make up for any of the loss of stops on the cancelled services.

Passengers who have booked via Avanti West Coast will be contacted by the operator, and a full refund will be made if passengers choose not to travel.

All other routes, such as London to Blackpool, Shrewsbury, Wrexham and Edinburgh, will continue to be served as the other plans to run roughly the same timetable as they currently operate.

Avanti West Coast says there is no fixed date when the timetable will run until, but the operate says “we expect this to be well into the New Year.”

  • Maybe London Northwestern Railway could help out. They do provide some services to Birmingham New Street that are semi-fast or non-stop. With most of them as stopping services via Northampton or via Rugby & Coventry.
