Steam locomotive 46115 Scots Guardsman will pass through Ravenglass this Saturday

Steam locomotive 46115 Scots Guardsman will be back in steam on the mainline and will be in Carlisle and Ravenglass on Saturday 26th September 2020.

The Scot locomotive is on a special railtour with 46115 hauling the Cumbrian Coast Express.

The railtour departs London Euston behind an electric locomotive at approximately 07:12 am.

It will then make stops at Milton Keynes Central (07:47), Rugby (08:24), Nuneaton (08:43), Crewe (09:35) and Preston (10:24), Penrith North Lakes (11:58) and Carlisle at 12:14.

Whilst the train is making its way north, 46115 will head light engine from Carnforth to Carlisle, passing through Carnforth (08:12), Oxenholme Lake District (08:43), Tebay (09:03) and Carlisle at 12:51.

After around an hour in Carlisle, and 46115 is added to the train, the locomotive will depart Carlisle at 13:33 bound for London Euston. It will pass through Maryport (14:14), Whitehaven (14:43), St Bees (14:54), Sellafield (15:09) and Barrow in Furness (16:21) before arriving into Carnforth D&U.G.L at 17:09.

Here, 46115 is taken off the train, and an electric locomotive will take the same path back to London Euston, calling at Preston (18:31), Crewe (19:27), Nuneaton (20:27), Rugby (20:50), Milton Keynes Central (21:20), Tring (21:48) and Watford Junction at 22:10.

The railtour will arrive back at its final destination of London Euston at 22:33.
