The has announced that it has received the International Safety Award 2020 for the second year from the British Safety Council.

Saudi Railway Company, SAR, has received the award in recognition of the company's commitment to the highest safety standards for its passengers and employees, reducing the risk of accidents.

CEO of “SAR” Dr. Bashar bin Khalid Al-Malik, emphasized that the application of the highest security standards in the kingdom's railway network including its operational plans for transport trains (passengers and freight trains), has been at the forefront of its strategic plans. Stating that, “SAR” is implementing a safety culture, on management, and maintenance of its trains, in accordance with recognized international standards.

Al-Malik added, “We are proud to be awarded such an international award, that reflect the efforts and decisions taken to implement and develop HSE procedures” pointing out that, the safety of the company's employees and customers, comes first, based on its values that employees seek to achieve in their daily performance.

Dr. Al-Malik has also thanked his work team and departments that have worked together to achieve a safe workplace, competing with other countries such as England, Scotland and India.

He also confirmed that SAR would continue its safety principles achieve more impressive accomplishments with new safety and security standards.
