has announced that they have officially opened their new Travel Centre at station.

The Travel Centre has moved and now offers a much more modern environment for passengers. It is now more central to the main concourse to make better use of the space inside the building.

LNER has completed the Travel Centre project as part of a transformation at York to provide a more enjoyable experience for passengers.

Toilet facilities at the station are being improved as part of the work, and the project will soon see a new First Class lounge created, along with two new retail outlets where the old travel centre was found.

Abu Siddeeq, Head of Customer Experience at LNER, said: “We're delighted to reach this significant milestone in our plans to transform York Station and it's wonderful to see customers and colleagues enjoying using the new Travel Centre.

“We will be working hard over the coming months to provide even greater enhancements to the station, such as the new First Class lounge, which once complete will give visitors a brilliant experience when travelling to and from this historic city.”

The full project at York is expected to be completed in Early 2021.
