Freightliner has announced that it has been awarded a new contract with Tarmac, and joins DB Cargo UK in announcing new contracts with the construction company.
Under the new contract, Freightliner will haul trains from Tarmac's Tunstead Site, in Derbyshire, and will also haul services from Tarmac's West Country quarries. Deliveries will be made to Wales, Somerset and Herefordshire.
Freightliner has had a long term working relationship with Tarmac, adding the South West of England to their workload from Tunstead in 2019.
The new contract will see Freightliner run an average of 50 trains a week, taking bulk materials, including aggregates and cement, for use in regional and national projects.
