has announced that it has made a donation worth $4m Chilean Pesos (approx £4000), to the CORPALIV Corporation, who educates children with multiple disabilities through its free special school.

The donation is part of Alstom's social responsibility initiative in several countries.

CORPALIV work with children who need assistance and daily care to complete their basic routines, such as dressing and eating. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, children are receiving remote assistance. However, many parents have had difficulty with income, and some can't provide enough food.

“Given this situation, we have launched an extraordinary fund-raising campaign to help families and have found a positive response from Alstom. We reiterate our thanks to the company for its commitment to our social cause, whose funds will directly benefit the families of our students severely affected by the pandemic, “said Sebastián Pérez, director of Red de Amigos CORPALIV.

“We are delighted to contribute to this commendable project and to help CORPALIV improve the living conditions of many families who have the dual challenge of caring for their children and keeping their homes in such a difficult economic context as that generated by COVID-19”, indicated Denis Girault, Director General of Alstom Chile S.A.

This donation is the second piece of action by Alstom in Chile during the pandemic. In May, Alstom donated 50 face masks made using 3D printers to the Family Health Center (CESFAM) Father Pierre Dubois, in Pedro Aguirre Cerda.
