Steam trains have returned to the for the first time since the lockdown restrictions were put in place.

Passenger trains returned to the five-mile line on Wednesday 19th August 2020, with the railway returning to some sort of the normality, just a new kind of normal.

However, before passenger trains could recommence, the KWVR had the significant task of finishing the Bridge 11 reconstruction project to make it a complete line once again.

Now that the bridge is complete, and the steam fleet, as well as carriages, have been made fit for service, trains can once again run through the Worth Valley.

The ‘Back in Steam' fleet consists of BR Ivatt No. 41241 and BR 2MT No. 78022, as well as MR 4F No. 43924.

Additionally, Taff Vale No. 85 will make up the four locomotivesCorona once maintenance has been completed after the locomotives aborted appearance at the Bluebell Railway.

The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway has also announced a Diesel Day with Class 37, No. 37075. More information on this can be found here.
