Steam locomotive 46100 Royal Scot to pass through Ravenglass this Saturday

LMS ‘Scot’ No. 46100 ‘Royal Scot’ will be passing through Ravenglass tomorrow as it hauls a special railtour on Saturday, 15th August 2020.

The Scot will be hauling a tour from Crewe to Carlisle and back.

Departing Wolverhampton at 06:05, the train will be hauled by a heritage diesel. Once the train has departed Wolverhampton, it will pass through Codsall (06:12), Telford Central (06:29), Wellington (06:40), Shrewsbury (07:02), Whitchurch (07:35), and Crewe at 08:00.

With 46100 Royal Scot now attached to the train, the railtour departs Crewe at 08:30 and will pass through Hartford (08:45), Warrington Bank Quay (08:58), Wigan North Western (09:26), Preston (09:44), Lancaster (10:34), Oxenholme Lake District (10:54), Tebay (11:44) and Carlisle at 12:28.

After a break in Carlisle of around 3 hours, the tour then departs Carlisle at 15:30 and will pass through Wigton (16:05), Maryport  (16:32), Workington (16:40), Whitehaven (17:21), St Bees (17:31), Sellafield (17:45), Ravenglass (17:55), Millom (18:13), Barrow-in-Furness (19:03), Ulverston (19:20), Grange-over-Sands (19:33), Carnforth (19:46), Lancaster (19:55), Preston (20:20), Wigan North Western (21:02), Warrington Bank Quay (21:17), Winsford (21:36) and Crewe at 21:47.

The heritage diesels will take over the train at Crewe and will depart at 22:15, and will then head back to Wolverhampton, passing through Whitchurch (22:33), Shrewsbury (22:58), Wellington (23:15), Telford Central (23:25), Codsall (23:41) and Wolverhampton at 00:10.
