has announced that they have received a ‘We're Good To Go' accreditation from Visit Britain.

From the beginning of the pandemic, TransPennine Express has worked to keep passengers safe, through various measures and enhanced cleaning regimes.

Alongside this, the operator has been looking to promote the areas served by their train services through Social Media staycations.

Lisa Hewitt, Partnership Marketing Manager for TransPennine Express said: “We are delighted that we have gained the ‘We're Good to Go accreditation from Visit Britain. This is the culmination of a lot of hard work across our business and we're grateful for their hard work in helping us gain this accreditation.

“Covid-19 has been very challenging for everyone and it has required many different teams to come together to ensure that our customers can travel safely with us. This acknowledgement from Visit Britain will hopefully boost customer confidence in TPE and enable many more people to go out and explore what the North of England and Scotland has to offer.”

  • Why if she knew she was travelling didn’t she fillit in at home. Then no problem, my understanding is that you have to put the date on to use it. The alternative would have been to turn her away until it was dated.

  • They may have accreditation, but yesterday at Hull my wife showed her retired staff pass at the barrier and explained that she would fill it in on the train, the guy on the barrier took the pass of her more or less without asking for permission and took it out of its folder all without gloves and dated it there and then, this is not good practice,we are told minimum contact I have only just started going out again since March as I am vulnerable,so I don’t kneed someone not in my family bubble touching our property certainly without gloves and before anyone says she should have filled it in before,if she didn’t catch that train she would not be traveling, with TPE being unreliable in Hull she decided to wait. So,TPE well done ,now tell your staff how to do it in the correct manner!!

  • Could TransPennine Express take over some of Northern services in the Northwest and Northeast and to use the Class 185 Desiro SMUs. As they have the Nova sets (Class 68+Mk5A Nova 3, Class 397 Civity Nova 2 and Class 802 IET AT300 Nova 1).
