Thanks to a new partnership between Amazon and Govia Thameslink Railway, passengers will soon be able to pick up parcels using Amazon Hub, making it easier to collect parcels for those travelling on Southern, Great Northern and Thameslink trains.

Offering superb convenience for rail users who are not at home during the day, nearly 150 Amazon Hub Lockers will be rolled out over the next six months, starting with stations on the Southern network.

Installation at Thameslink and Great Northern stations will be completed in the autumn with all Lockers to be installed by December 2020.

GTR's Commercial Director, David Gornall, said: “The installation of Amazon Hub Locker across our network adds another amenity to make life easier for our busy customers. Although a large majority of the UK is working from home, not everyone can be in for deliveries – especially key workers or other industries now back at work. Our new partnership gives passengers the opportunity to pick-up their Amazon packages on the go as part of their everyday journey.”

Doug Gurr, Country Manager for Amazon.co.uk, said: “Amazon will go where our customers are and deliver where and when they need us. Rolling out Amazon Hub Lockers with Govia Thameslink Railway is a great opportunity to provide a seamless shopping and delivery experience for our joint customers.”

Shipping to an Amazon Hub Locker at a Govia Thameslink Railway station is easy and comes at no additional cost. During checkout, Amazon customers will select a locker at their chosen railway station as their shipping address.

Once the parcel is delivered, customers will get a confirmation email and a barcode to scan at the locker.
