West Somerset Railway to hold Living Museum weekends this Summer

Views around the West Somerset Railway

The has announced its plans for two Living Museum weekends at Minehead station.

These two weekends are set to take place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July 2020, and also on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August 2020.

Further dates may be added, but this is dependant on the interest shown in the above dates.

Exact details are to be announced at a later date, but it is hoped that the following activities will feature:

  • Steam locomotives in action completing shunting activities
  • Turntable in action
  • Shunting competition for children
  • Tours of Minehead workshops
  • Cafes open
  • Burger van
  • Railway groups selling railwayana
  • Other activities being considered to include:
    • Vintage bus rides
    • Local musicians
    • Punch and Judy shows
    • Small model railway layouts

Entrance tickets are expected to be £5 per person, with tickets being bookable in advance online or via contactless payment on the day.
