The Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway has announced that trains will be returning after a break due to the crisis.

Trains will return on the 2nd August 2020, but tickets must be purchased in advance via the SDJR website.

Trains will depart at 10:30, 11:30, 14:00 and 15:30 hrs.

Tickets are priced at £25 for a compartment that holds up to eight people and includes a £5 voucher for the buffet car.

Visitors should wear a face-covering when boarding and alighting from the train and walking down the train corridor. It will not be necessary to wear your face covering once you are in your compartment.

  • Wow, Another Piece of Good News… Now the S&DR Heritage Trust (at Midsomer Norton) are The latest to Eventually Reopen Back Up & Running…

Their Exact Reopening Date, is in-fact the Day After ”Yorkshire Day 2020”.

Also, the S&DR Heritage Trust (Which I still Believe they are) Aiming to Hopefully (yet someday) Extend Southwards as far as Chilcompton… Which’ll takes years to Achieve, Especially as the UK Preservation Movement have already begun (in stages) to Recover from the infamous Covid-Pandemic.

A Well Done to the Midsomer Norton lot on Achieving the so-called ”Good-To-Go” by the Way.
