Cavan and Leitrim Railway steam locomotive DROMAD on the move

The in Ireland have announced that Kerr Stuart steam locomotive DROMAD has moved ahead of restoration.

The move took place last Saturday and saw DROMAD move from Duncan Milners Yard in Stoke to Cumbria for storage and restoration.

DROMAD, the first steam engine for the Cavan and Leitrim Railway and was built by Kerr Stuart in 1916 at their Stoke-on-Trent factory.

The locomotive is now possibly the first 3ft gauge steam locomotive in Cumbria since the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway was converted.
