With planning underway at the to reopen in 2020, the railway are wanting passenger views to make sure they provide a safe and enjoyable day out.

A lot of work has been put into planning their strategy for reopening. It isn't just a case of firing a locomotive up and taking the carriages out of Oxenhope carriage sidings.

The biggest obstacle is Bridge 11, which has not been finished yet, so the line is currently in two halves.

The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway said: “We are asking you to take part in this short survey to ensure we understand how you are feeling about returning to the Worth Valley and our unique railway.”

  • To the person that suggested vintage buses. A brilliant idea apart from the lack of access to Damems station, the road both ways is only suitable for 4×4 etc.

  • Why does it matter what we think?, the KWVR will have to obey the law and follow instructions issued by the government.

    • It’s obviously asking questions to garner the answers to what measures would make the public happiest to return. The KWVR will then implement that into their reopening plans that follow government guidelines. Eg the wearing of masks by staff and removal of station benches, these might not be in government guidelines but if it makes 20% more people feel safer to visit again these are both simple measures to implement for the increase ticket sales.

  • Its a stupidly worded survey
    Q) open or compartment carriage
    A) Compartment for exclusive use
next Q) in your open carriage which PPE to use
I said NOT an open carriage
you cannot then complete the survey as the Q) repeats ad infinitum…
    hopeless !

  • I had A Go at doing this Intriguing Survey by the KWVR… I might look forward to seeing and safely travel the KWVR sometime next year 2021.

Also, I would like to suggest (incase that Bridge 11 in-between Ingrow and Damens along the KWVR route is still being worked on, same time a possible expert planned safe reopening taking place)…

Maybe the KWVR could (as I describe it)

    A. Operate one train from it’s Keighley starting point up to as far as Ingrow West station…

    B. Passengers alight at said Ingrow West station platform, Hop aboard a vintage bus (or two), With said vintage bus (or two) travel through local countryside to Damems…

    C. Arrive there and aboard another KWVR train and continue by rail up to either as far as Haworth or all the way to Oxenhope whichever.

    Only A Suggestion.
