The 6024 King Edward Facebook page has posted a link to a JustGiving page, set up to help fund the overhaul of their Great Western Railway 6000 ‘King' Class No.6024 “King Edward I”.

Now in the final stages of the overhaul, 6024 is looking more like a complete engine with recent work seeing the boiler cladding sheets being repaired or replaced, along with other fittings being reattached. More information on that can be found here.

To help the team finish off the overhaul, a regular supporter will be doing a sponsored bike ride from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard Stations, a roughly 20-mile ride, with their JustGiving page for donations being found here.

Started two days ago on Wednesday 17th of June 2020, £515 has already been raised as of Friday 19th of June! Although reaching their target, the more money donated, the sooner remaining work on “King Edward I” can be completed.
