The Mid Norfolk Railway at Dereham has posted photos from recent vandalism, which has left substantial damage and repairs to fund.
Last weekend, between Friday 1st and Monday 4th of May 2020, damage was caused to many items of the railway's rolling stock, including the recently restored British Railways Coach (with the restoration costing over £45,000) and a Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU).
This is very disheartening news for the line, especially with the financial impacts caused by COVID-19.
Anyone with information on the vandalism at the Mid Norfolk Railway, such as CCTV footage from the surrounding area, is urged to contact PC Sophie Webster at Dereham Police Station on 101, quoting crime reference number 36/29074/20 or call Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555111.
The Mid-Norfolk Railway needs your support to increase their chances of surviving the effects of COVID-19, and sadly now the repair costs to these much-needed vehicles, leading to the line setting up the Coronavirus Closure Fund. You just know that if the police did catch them there would be no punishment because there is no justice system anymore . I doubt they would be able to get any money as the low lifes who did it would have no money. With no justice this will just go on and on. Not to mention the children who were born during the Tony Blair days who were not shown the difference between right and wrong and were never disciplined . With the deliberate dumbing down of society people will not appreciate culture and nostalgia as they would rather be home in their pyjamas watching catch up or playing a dumb computer game.
How sad,makes you wonder just what is wrong with these people ,do they get pleasure from this sort of vandalism,difficult to understand.
So sorry for MNR and the volunteers after all the hard work.

So sorry to hear what had happened on the Mid-Norfolk Railway.
Its shameful of those to ever dare vandalize/attack Notoriously Well-Restored Railway Heritage (especially the Mid-Norfolk Railway itself).
I do hope the MNR shall (even eventually) think and conjure up ideas and ways of fundraising to sought out repairs the same time as combating/fighting back Covid-19.
My heart still goes out to the Marvelous Mid-Norfolk Railway, it’s fleet of locos, it’s volunteers and groups (bravely going through such an unexpected period), especially to those in-between who live over in Norfolk.
