Leaky Finders Ltd, who is contracted to build the new tender chassis for new-build London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) Patriot Class No.5551 “The Unknown Warrior”, has posted an update on their latest progress.

The front drag box riveting will be completed once a few brackets are attached. Holding parts of the brake shaft, the brackets will be fixed in place when the shafts are finished.

Both rear drag box and rear spacer boxes now await riveting after completion of recent machining, fitting and drilling.

Permanent riveting of the horn blocks and spring hanger brackets has also been finished.

Only minor adjustments are needed to buffer housing before they can be fixed in place. Many components and frame can start to be painted, ready for fitting when needed.
