The Somerset & Dorset Railway Heritage Trust is seeking donations towards the cost of refurbishing recently acquired Restaurant Minature Buffet (RMB) S1887.
Since arriving at Midsomer Norton, volunteers have completed many tasks, such as through clean the inside to remove graffiti, and a full repaint into British Railways Maroon Livery, greatly improving the coach.
To finish work S1887 to a high standard, the Trust wishes to reupholster all 48 seats, install new linoleum on the floor and generally improve the carriage.
This will allow up to 48 passengers to enjoy hot and cold refreshments onboard passenger trains.
Therefore, the Trust is hoping to raise £10,000, which will fund the work they wish to carry out. Donations of any amount are appreciated by the Trust, with £550 already raised.
