Non-Executive Directors appointed by Network Rail

New Non-Executive Directors have been appointed by to replace retired members.

Mark Bayley and Fiona Ross have now joined the Board of Network Rail, and this has been in effect from the 11th May 2020.

Additionally, Michael Harrison has been appointed as Special Director by the Secretary of State for Transport.

Both Mark and Fiona have extensive experience in both sectors to help Network Rail in the years ahead.

 

Mark has spent a lot of his career in the rail sector, having experience in major projects and corporate finance.

He was finance director and chief executive of London & Continental Railways Ltd, the developer of HS1. Mark was appointed a CBE in 2012 for services to the rail industry.

Fiona is experienced in both sectors and is currently serving on a number of other boards.

In 2018, she was appointed by the Irish Government to chair Córas Iompair Éireann.

  • Here we go again. Why are Network Rail appointing Non Executive directors with other jobs. Surely this job is big enough to devote full time to.
