Final TransPennine Express Class 397 delivered from CAF

has confirmed that they have accepted their final Class 397 train from manufacturers CAF.

The final Class 397 train was accepted by Eversholt Rail on the 31st March 2020.

The full fleet of 12 Class 397 trains, each in 5-car formation, are in use with to operate their Anglo-Scottish services between Manchester, Liverpool Lime Street, Glasgow Central and Edinburgh Waverley via the West Coast Mainline.

Nos. 397001 – 3970012 are part of TransPennine Express' full fleet of new trains, including Class 802s from Hitachi, and Class 68 + Mk5s from CAF and Stadler. These new trains operate across the North of England and Scotland alongside Class 185 DMUs.

Eversholt Rail has said, “This is a fantastic example of cross-team working between the teams at Transpennine Express, CAF and Eversholt Rail”.
