PPE donated to local emergency services by South Western Railway

Spare items of PPE have been donated by to the NHS, Care Providers, and the emergency services to help with the pandemic.

A local resilience forum made the request for donations.

Disposable and splash-resistant coveralls usually used by the engineering teams when painting or carrying out fluid changes have been donated.

Maintenance teams at South Western Railway had adequate PPE to continue their usual work and the engineering team donated the spare PPE to help keep other key workers safe.

What did they say?

Neil Drury, Engineering Director for South Western Railway, said:

“We are delighted to be able to donate this spare PPE and support our local emergency services in the fight against Coronavirus.”

PC Gary Jones from the Joint Operations Unit for Hampshire Constabulary said:

“We'd like to thank South Western Railway for this PPE, which will be supporting blue light services, the NHS and care providers on the front line against COVID 19.”
