The Corris Railway has announced that the next phase of their Southern Extension has begun.

Work started on the extension at the beginning of April 2020.

This phase is a significant piece of engineering and requires a new 300-metre long embankment between the A487 and the River Dulas.

A large quantity of rock has been sourced and purchased recently.

A local contractor has been at work, within the current restrictions, with the required machinery.

Over the years, the Corris Railway has built up funds for the extension, but the purchase of rock and hire of the contractor will reduce these funds considerably.

Additional work includes the building of a bridge over the Goedwig stream.

Donations to the Corris Railway will help join up the original tracked and assist the railway's return to operation when it is safe to do so.

Donations can be made via the Corris Railway website by clicking here.
